360 MusicWorX enthusiastically announces the signing of the new band, “AsOne.” Combining the musical talents of singer/songwriters Lisa Wright and Theresa Bailey, “AsOne” is the first interracial female duet in the history of music and their powerful story speaks for itself.
Having written her first song at the age of seven, Lisa Wright has written music for Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir, Colorado Mass Choir, Jana Long (Avalon), Kelli Williams, Image, Chris Willis and Disney’s Christmas Lullabies. She has also performed on a number of Christian albums, including, Colorado Mass Choir, Praise In His Presence, With This Ring, With This Ring...Forever I Do, Joyful Noize and Songs For The Soul, to name a few. Wright is also very involved in the praise team at her church (Joy Church International) in Nashville, TN. “I go to church to be spiritually fed and filled up,” says Wright. “We can’t give what we don’t have, so it’s important to stay rooted in a local church."
A Berklee graduate and sought after as one of LA’s top backup vocalists, Theresa Bailey has had the privilege of working with Jennifer Hudson, Lalah Hathaway, Jill Scott, Usher, Fantasia, Smokey Robinson, James Ingram, Raphael Saadiq, Anastacia, and Queen Latifah. She has written songs for several new Christian artists such as Spensha Baker (“Victory”), Chris Bolton (“I Say, You Say”) and Regina Belle (“God Must Have Been With You”). Along with her notable voice, Theresa worked in the church as an accompanist, choir director and worship leader since the age of ten. In 2012, prior to becoming part of AsOne, Theresa had the privilege of winning the GMA Immerse Female Songwriter Of The Year award.
Both their sincere love for music ministry and their greater love for Christ is what brought Lisa and Theresa together. Add to that, the fact that they are a well-paired writing team with songs that are directly honest, refreshingly hook-driven and irresistibly engaging and whose individual vocal abilities intertwine in a striking display, complimenting one another beautifully, and you have the makings of a compelling duo. AsOne has been honored to perform on the Grand stage at Disney World in Orlando, Florida, they've sang at conferences and have been invited by International Crisis Aid to go to Ethiopia to help minister to the people there. They were truly blessed when International Crisis Aid chose the song they penned, "Be The Light" as their international theme song. They have already written close to fifty songs since they united as a group in July of 2012.
With a goal of reaching a world that continues to struggle with division, AsOne believes their harmony can help bridge that gap. Inspired and impassioned by the talent that God has given them, Lisa and Theresa are presently co-penning all songs on their upcoming debut release. “It’s okay to be different,” AsOne explains. “If I take my differences and you take your differences and we put them together, we can make a difference!” And they live by the strong belief that, “In your difference, lies your destiny”.
AsOne’s desire is to touch the hearts of people everywhere by sharing God’s love that crosses all boundaries, through song. “Being blessed to do what we love and using our gifts for God’s glory is what it’s all about,” AsOne comments.
AsOne is both excited and humbled to be releasing their initial album in 2015. The unique melodies they offer to the world will surely make a lasting impact in music, as they work to make a difference together, as one!
